Hello and welcome to the website of Michelle Locke, a Berkeley-based freelance writer, editor and photographer.

With more than two decades of experience as a breaking-news reporter, I specialize in writing lively, engaging copy, covering topics as diverse as business forecasts, educational issues and the latest in cocktail trends. I also work on commercial writing projects and provide copyediting services. 

I am a freelance contributor to The Associated Press, a news columnist at Vineyard & Winery Management magazine, a freelancer for the education journal Scholastic Administrator and a contributing writer at the online wine magazine Palate Press. My work appears in publications nationwide including The Washington Post, USA Today and the Los Angeles Times. I also provide editing services and am available for commercial projects including writing web copy and white papers.
